An indigo-dyed flannel stole sewn shut at the torso, pockets hidden under the fold, it is a cloak that one could sleep in. It invokes the charity of St. Martin who, as legend has it, divided his cloak for a beggar. See El Greco. He is the soldier who died a peaceful death and as priest and monk is the patron of those who turn swords into plowshares. Shawl wraps like a coat and has the ceremony of the religious garment that symbolizes bearing the cross. Please note all garments are made to order and take 2-3 weeks to ship.
